In 2015, about 3 million teens ages 12 to 17 had at least one major depressive episode in the past year. Women are twice as likely to suffer from depression than men. Over 15 million American adults, around 6.7 percent of the U.S. population age 18 and older, suffer from depression in a given year
Depression causes people to lose pleasure from daily life, can complicate other medical conditions, and can even be serious enough to lead to suicide. Major depression is one of the most common mental illnesses, affecting 6.7% (more than 16 million) of American adults each year
Two-thirds of people suffering from depression do not seek necessary treatment. 80% of all people with clinical depression who have received treatment significantly improve their lives. Of the estimated 17.5 million Americans who are affected by some form of depression, 9.2 million have major or clinical depression.

After batteling with Depression herself, our founder decided to find ways to empower others who are also suffering.
Starting In her community in Sacramento California, she partnered with community organizations and churches,, and is well known for her "Hood Talk" seminars, which teach women and teens basic automotive maintenance.
